The recruitment drive is organized by the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) located in Bhubaneswar under the East Coast Railway division.
   This employment opportunity is for the role of Act Apprentice.

   The department has announced a grand total of 1599 open positions for young aspirants.

   Interested candidates can start filling out their online application forms from 26 August 2026.

   Candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories need to pay an application fee of ₹100.
   Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) are completely exempted from paying any fees.
   Physically Handicapped (PH) individuals do not need to pay any registration fees.
   All female applicants from any social category can apply for these jobs completely free of charge.
   The payment of the fee must be done online using digital methods or through permitted offline methods.

   The age of the applying candidate will be officially verified as of 15 September 2026.
   An applicant must have reached a minimum age of 15 years to qualify for the post.
   The absolute upper age limit for applying is set at 24 years.
   Candidates from reserved categories will get extra relaxation in the upper age limit as per the East Coast Railway recruitment rules.

   The applicant must have successfully cleared their Class 10 High School or Matriculation exam.
   A minimum aggregate score of 50% marks is compulsory in the school-leaving exam.
   Candidates must also have a valid Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the relevant technical trade.

   There are 633 seats available for applicants belonging to the Unreserved or General category.
   The Other Backward Classes (OBC) category has been allotted 435 seats.
   Candidates from the Scheduled Castes (SC) category have 251 reserved seats.
   There are 164 seats reserved for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates.
   Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category are allocated 116 seats.
   A horizontal reservation of 50 seats is allocated for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
   A total of 42 seats are horizontally reserved for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) category applicants.
   Horizontal reservations mean that these seats are adjusted within the main categories.

   The Khurda Road Division has the highest number of vacancies, offering 773 apprentice seats.
   The RGDA Division is recruiting candidates for a total of 292 apprentice positions.
   There are 262 open positions in the Sambalpur Division for various trades.
   The Carriage Repair Workshop located at Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar has 250 vacant slots.
   The Head Quarter of East Coast Railway in Bhubaneswar offers a total of 22 vacancies.

   Candidates must submit their application forms online between 26 August 2026 and 15 September 2026.
